I apologize for being inactive on this blog the last little while. I have been in hospital. I am home now and recovering.
While in hospital they discovered that my cancer has returned and that I will need more treatment. I have been investigating all that needs to be done to make this unfold.
While doing so, I have been overwhelmed with support from family and friends. It has been incredible and so very much appreciated. I am so grateful for the love and support of those around me.
I am also grateful for the new cancer treatments available to me. The most likely treatment, which has good life expectancy at 10 years, is now available in Vancouver, BC--just a short ferry ride from Victoria where I live. This treatment has just been available from 2013. I am grateful to the vast team of cancer researchers and oncologists who have made this new treatment available.
I am at a place where I need to really practice what I preach. I need to stay positive and focused on my health. It has been difficult, but I feel myself beginning to make the mental transition to the optimistic and life-giving place I try and encourage you all to go.
I will continue to blog about this experience. Hopefully, together we can learn how to tackle the challenges of life with a spirit filled with grace and light.
God bless to you all, and thank you for your support.
Dr. Jillian Roberts
PS Here is a fun photo of a woman and her deerhound. This is not me (of course), but I do have a deerhound and he does kiss me like this! This picture makes me smile, and that is why I share it with you :)
